Discipleship training

Discipleship Classes meet Sunday evenings one hour before our Evening Worship Service and immediately after the Service. Classes are designed to delve more deeply into scripture than Sunday mornings sometime allow. These classes add to the Christian's spiritual growth and maturity. Topics are determined by the spiritual interest and need of those attending.

Bible Some groups are smaller than many Sunday morning classes and attendees are encouraged to actively participate in the teaching/sharing time and are generally not limited to one lesson for one Sunday. Classes are more informal and fellowship times are enjoyed regularly as well. Learning takes place more as a participant than a listener to a lecture.

One adult discipleship class studies various doctrinal topics, covering a wide range of Bible subjects. Leader of this group is Del Slone. A second group, led by long-time Bible teacher Sidney McCluer, studies the Bible methodically, using our Explore the Bible SBC curriculum as their study guide. Occasionally a third group meets to study a different topic of interest. Winter/spring 2009 finds groups one and three studying Dr. David Jeremiah’s “What In the World Is Going On” which deals with current events that are proving Bible prophecies are still coming true today and the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ may indeed be soon.
