Whew! So many things are going on right now, it’s a challenge keeping up. What an impressive assembly of instrumentalists gathered in our sanctuary Sunday evening. There were at least 60 musicians plus family and friends! My only disappointment – hearing just a tidbit before leaving to join Lyrique Bells at Raymond Road BC. From all comments, their musical offerings were a blessing to all. Thanks, Ronnie Russell, for your planning and execution of this special concert. Much appreciation to Bess Ponder, Virginia Pennington and their Hospitality Committee who put together a super reception for these guests after the concert. There has been nothing but praise for this event. God is so good!
My precious JOY Singers, thank you for leading morning worship in such fine fashion. Your commitment and dedication to this church and music ministry is a constant inspiration to me. Your musical witness last Tuesday at the State VA Nursing Home was awesome. Not only did your singing evoke a marriage proposal (to Shirley Harvill) from one of the livelier residents, but it carried another home to glory as his loved one tearfully shared on our departure. God is using this ministry in so many ways. A report on the Senior Adult Choir Festival will follow next week.
The handbell collaboration of Lyrique Bells and Raymond Road ringers was great fun and has led to a joint choral presentation slated for the end of June. It’s exciting to praise God simply because He is so worthy of our worship. Joining with this sister church will make His praise even more glorious! Don’t miss it.
