AWBC Choir

    JOY Singers had a wonderful first-time visit with residents and staff of St. Catherine Village last Tuesday. The songs of Jesus were welcomed with much enthusiasm, and Polly and Murry Mitchell beamed as we sang. If you aren’t a regular part of this joyful band of singing saints, we invite you to share the love of Jesus with us. Our next outing will be in August.

    The final Concert of Praise for the summer of 2010 is scheduled for August 8th. Our beloved Frances Raley provided inspiration to do a one-act play entitled He Came Seeing, which she had directed in the early days of ministry with pastor/husband, Harry. Through much prayer, we’ve seen God put together a terrific company of players – Reba Bradshaw, Jeremy Champion, Mark Cooper, Steve Davis, George French, Marcia Harrigill, Ann Marie Loveless, Bill Loveless, and Melissa Thomae. Don’t miss this moving story of Jesus healing the man born blind. And, please, invite someone to join you. A churchwide fellowship will follow the presentation.

It’s great looking forward to some things, but often we rely on eventualities to bring us happiness. As children of the Living God, we should strive each day to live with the joy and purpose for which we were created. Being involved in the family of God at Alta Woods is a terrific place to do just that. Join us this week. The journey can be great, but the destination is even better!
