Samaritan Ministry
The Bible tells us that
on one occasion an expert of the law stood up to test Jesus.
In response to this expert's question, Jesus answered that
we are to love our neighbor as ourselves. |
 |
The question was then asked "Who is my neighbor?"
In reply to this question, Jesus told about a
man who had been robbed, wounded, and left for dead along the roadside.
"Religious" men of that day saw the wounded man and passed
on by without helping him. A man from Samaria saw him, had compassion,
and ministered to him. (Luke
10:25-37)
Some of our Senior Adults organized the Good Samaritan ministry
because they recognized a need and wished to respond to it.
When there is a death in the church family, the Good Samaritans
take needed items, such as a coffee pot, coffee, paper plates, napkins,
drinks, and a chest of ice. This caring ministry is done quietly
and almost without notice. Families appreciate this special assistance
at this time of bereavement.

Pall Bearer Ministry
If a family requests
it, we have a group of men who stand ready to assist as pall
bearers. This is a very meaningful and thoughtful ministry
during a most difficult time for a family. |
